When the municipal sewer main that runs near the squash courts and Aquatic Centre at St. Stithians School became blocked and burst during a severe hail storm in February this year, the resultant sewerage spill ran into two of the pools and contaminated much of the soil in the area as well. Interwaste was contracted to remedy the situation and in turn the company called on Renico Plant Hire to supply the necessary heavy equipment and rid the area of the contaminated soil.
Our operators worked efficiently to remove in excess of 300 mm of contaminated soil from the affected area and load it all into Interwaste containers for safe disposal.
We then brought in clean soil, back filled the area, compacted it and returned it to its original state before handing the site back to Interwaste. A job efficiently executed and completed in good time!
